Happiness for 50 cents.........

Patchy Daisy pincushions have made an appearance....
After finishing off my latest tea cosy I was still enjoying playing with a mix of bright fabrics, so whipped up a couple of these to get it out of my system.

Polka dots have also been making an appearance this week......

This morning I headed off bright and early with a couple of friends to go on an op shop adventure.
Three towns, six op shops.....treasures to be discovered!!
I found this little beauty and couldn't resist its charm.

Happiness for 50 cents.......

I might fill it with doilies......or

some of my wool stash......

I did tell hubby I bought it for him to take his lunch to work in, but I don't think he believed me!!

At Red Ramia in Myrtleford I spied these wonderful cotton reels,
the perfect thing for storing some of my trims on.

Might need a few more  as I have quite a stash of ribbons and trims.....

and there's plenty of room on the shelf for more ...

Well I finally finished the tea cosy and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

It reminds me of Spring and all the new growth in the garden.
It's for sale on my Face book site, if you wold like to head over there and have a look....

Another bout of hot weather has arrived and it's a big job keeping the garden going......
The birdbaths are topped up every morning and sticks placed in them for the smaller birds and any bees that might need a drink.....

So girls, have you been on any adventures this week, or found something special to make you smile?.....I hope so...

Thanks for visiting and take care,

Claire X

I can just see him trotting off to work with his polkadot lunchbox.

I might have to get one for my hubby.

  11. Hi Claire! Happy New Year to you! Lovely and colourful pretty treasures you have on the photos! The tea cosy, looks so cozy that makes me think again of lovely spring while I am painting in this hot weather we having at the moment. I've also found a lovely treasure in my op shop adventure this week! And it certainly makes me so excited for many crafting soon. I 've found a book which is all about Classic Craft! And one of the craft I have just done is the paper making from recycled paper! So excited! It certainly put a big smile on my face! I will share this craft in my blog soon. ; )

  12. I love the cotton reels and what you have stored on them. I too laughed at the idea of a husband and a polka dot lunch box.
I hope you are not too hot, have a coz in Aus and she is roasting in the heat.
We, however, adventure each time we set out at the moment: snow, ice and our own skating rink on the front drive.

  14. I want the tea cosy if you haven't sold it already. I messaged you on Facebook! :)

I left a reply to your comment on my blog... Toronto shouldn't be too bad in February. It's always colder up here where we are. Still, coming from Australia, it will definitely feel like winter!!

    Have a great weekend.

  15. What a great way to justify a purchase really intended for oneself ... but what would you have done if he took you up on it? :)

Those cotton reels are wonderful and how nice that they're functional too.

Adorable pincushion and tea cosy! Stay hydrated and cool Claire. :)

  17. Hi Claire, you certainly found some lovely treasures while you were out and about. The big old cotton reels are beautiful and perfect for trims! Would your husband really have taken a red and white spotty suitcase to work?!! I'm just trying to imagine my husband ... !! Beautiful tea cosy and pincushion, nice to work with different colours and styles every now and again. Have a lovely day. Keep cool. Trudy x
